Do I have to book through O'Donnell Travel?
YES!!!!! If you want to be a part of this group and partake in all our activities you must book through O'Donnell Travel, our parties and concerts will NOT be open to general ship population.
But it is cheaper on the internet!
Of course it is, Holland America Line is NOT paying for Dave Mason, the other musical acts, the surf guides, transportation to the breaks or the private concert in Cabo, the parties, etc... All of this is paid for by O'Donnell Travel and none of the above will be available to anyone who has not booked through our travel company. Security WILL be tight at all venues whether on ship or shore and will be strictly limited to our guests, there will be NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!!!!
How many concerts will Dave Mason be doing?
There will be two private concerts for our group, one on the ship on Sunday and another in Cabo. Again, these are only available to our guests and security will be at the doors at all times checking credentials and names.
How many surfers will be in the group? Will it be too crowded?
In order to assure all surfers the optimal experience, we limit the number of surfers to 40 but feel free to bring all the friends and family you want!
Can I bring my shortboard?
Sure, we do not discriminate on any of our cruises!
I would love to compete but I'm not a professional!
This is a pro-am event, feel free to compete! Just inform us and we can add the competition fee to your package.
I'm a beginner, will I be totally outclassed in the water?
NO! Our surfers have been beginners, intermediates, advanced and professionals. Don't forget, our pros will give lessons to anybody that requests one.
Will the competition cut into my surfing time? I don't want to compete.
The breaks are large enough that you will be able to surf before, during and after the event.
How long is the Expression Session?
The Expression Session will be 90 minutes in each port, heats will be 15 minutes.
Will the pros be surfing with those of us who are not competing?
Of course! Mary, Colin and Wingnut are your official event hosts and will be in the water with you.
I really don't want the hassle of traveling with my surfboard, do I have any options?
We proudly offer Robert August Surftech boards for rent which are delivered to the ship so you have no hassles whatsoever. Simply go the Robert August website and select your preferred model and size and let us know. Boards are $150.00 per week to rent. Bring your own leash!
